"An intercultural, multi-ability and student-centered curriculum is the basis of my instruction. Students will focus on understanding and respecting differences in culture, race and perspectives/opinions, developing the ability to work in collaborative settings and becoming responsible for their own learning and actions. Particular emphasis will be on listening to each other and valuing classmates', as well as their own, contributions to our learning environment. Our classroom will support meeting the Common Core Standards and promoting a 21st century life-long learner through engagement in integrated cross-curriculum thematic units with a focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, global perspectives and traditional academics."
